How does this calculator work?

This entertainment-only calculator creates a deterministic score from the characters in the two entered names. It hashes the text, combines the two repeatable values with fixed weights, and maps the result to a number from 0 to 100. Because the rule is deterministic, entering the same names in the same order produces the same result; changing spelling, spacing, punctuation, or order can change it. The score is not based on relationship research, psychology, statistics, or a validated compatibility test, and it does not measure real compatibility or predict a relationship. Use the page as a light conversation starter, not as evidence for a personal decision.

How does the score work?

Why does changing the spelling change the result?
